Our Story
Founded in 1994, Portworks began as Sonoma County’s only dedicated port winery. In 2025, founders Bill and Caryn Reading passed the torch to Heringer Estates, blending two family legacies into one. Today, Portworks continues to craft distinctive wines rooted in tradition, creativity, and connection.
Rooted In the Vineyards
All of our wines are grown and produced from our estate vineyards, located in Clarksburg, California, and have been cared for by our family for generations.
As stewards of this land, we are deeply committed to its health and vitality, ensuring that future generations can continue to cultivate its rich potential.
Through sustainable practices in both our vineyards and winemaking, we honor the land’s legacy while protecting its future, leaving it healthier, more vibrant, and capable of producing exceptional wine for years to come.
